Olympus OM-D E-M5 vs Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II – Comparison
The original Olympus OM-D E-M5 was widely acclaimed for stepping the game up in the CSC market with an advanced feature-set likely to appeal to the enthusiast rather than entry-level shooter.
It’s perhaps not surprising, therefore, that the Mark II inherits a host of features from its predecessor. This includes the 16.1MP Four Thirds sensor, 5-axis image stabilisation and both a dust- and splash-proof body.
Elsewhere there are a range of improvements, including a viewfinder twice the resolution of its predecessor and a new high-res LCD touchscreen with full vari-angle functionality.
The 40MP ‘High Res Shot’ image capture mode will also no doubt prove welcome for landscape photographers and the like.
That being said, the original E-M5 remains well specified and at its current street price could continue to prove popular.
