Sony HX50 vs Sony HX60 V – Comparison
At their current street price, there’s only around £50 between the HX60 V and its predecessor – the HX50. While that might not seem like a huge amount, in the travel compact category it represents a sizeable leap in cost.
What does the extra cash get you? Well, to begin with the HX60 V features the newer generation Sony BIONZ X processor and as such is faster in operation and will produce better images – that’s despite boasting the same 20.4MP Exmor R CMOS sensor and 30x optical zoom as its predecessor.
Other features retained are the model’s 3in, 921k-dot LCD screen and Full HD video capture at a highest frame rate of 50p. The HX60 V also features Wi-fi connectivity as in the HX50, although it also adds NFC and GPS connectivity to the mix.
So, which of the two should you buy? If you opt for the HX50 you’ll certainly save a bit of cash and get a lot of functionality present in the updated version, however the newer BIONZ X processor found in the HX60 V is certainly worthy of the extra investment.
